About Montrell
Worship is essential to the Christian experience. Montrell learned long ago that when
everything seems to be falling down around you, God miraculously makes it all okay
when you reach out to Him through worship. Montrell lives to worship his maker, and his
desire is to share with others what he has learned and to provide an atmosphere so that
people feel comfortable in worship themselves.
God has granted Montrell a gift to play the saxophone. With this gift, He has imparted
in Montrell a vision to soothe and uplift the people who listen to his music. Montrell is
also venturing into other avenues of music and ministry. No longer just an
instrumentalist, he has begun expressing his music vocally. He and his wife, Donna,
have written many songs together including "Everything I Need" and "In His Presence."
Montrell's new project, In His Presence, is a mixture of instrumental and vocal songs and
includes some of the songs that he wrote with his wife.
Through his experience playing the saxophone, Montrell has had the opportunity to
play at weddings, church services, studio sessions, concerts, and various special events.
He has played with many Christian and gospel music artists such as Dean and Mary
Brown, Alvin Slaughter, Vicki Yohe, Judy Jacobs, Paula White, and Gene MacDonald
among others. He has released two albums, My First Psalms and In His Presence. He
can currently be seen on Unfolding Majesty with Dean and Mary Brown, which airs on
Trinity Broadcast Network (check local listings for air times).
Montrell lives in Georgia with his wife and son. There, he splits his time among
teaching, music, family, and church.
